Highway and Bridge Tolls Increased on July 1

According to the official announcement made by the General Directorate of Highways, a new price regulation has been made in highway and bridge toll prices across the country as of July 1, 2026. This increased tariff, which covers all crossing points operated with the Public-Private Sector Cooperation model, was put into effect at midnight between June 30 and July 1.

This significant increase in transportation costs will directly affect both personal vehicle owners and commercial transportation drivers. The current tariff details in question can be accessed via the website of the General Directorate of Highways.

On the other hand, the new price determined for 1st class vehicles on the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge was announced as 110 TL. Drivers are faced with a total cost difference of 47.6 percent, with the increases in the first half of the year.

The total increase rate since the beginning of the year has reached 47.6 percent, putting a strain on driver budgets.

Expenses Nearly Doubled

This pricing policy applied in transportation infrastructure projects in Türkiye is determined within the framework of operating costs and current economic conditions.

In the statement made by the General Directorate of Highways, it is emphasized that the prices have been revised in line with the principles of public and private sector cooperation. This increase constitutes a significant cost item in travel plans, especially for citizens traveling between cities. These costs, combined with fuel and maintenance costs, as well as toll prices, bring sustainability into question in the field of transportation.
