AMD announced that it will offer FSR Upscaling 4.1 support in July for the Radeon RX 7000 series and in 2027 for the RX 6000 series.
AMD made an important announcement about the long-awaited FSR 4 technology, officially announcing that this technology will come to graphics cards with RDNA 3 and RDNA 2 architectures. Jack Huynh, the company’s Senior Vice President of Computing and Graphics, stated that FSR Upscaling 4.1 will be available to a wide range of users.
Radeon RX 7000 series users will get the new machine learning-based upgrade technology in July this year. This update will allow users to benefit from current technology without having to switch to new hardware.
July Good News for Radeon RX 7000 Series
Radeon RX 7000 series owners will start using FSR Upscaling 4.1 support directly in more than 300 games with the update to be released in July. The version in question was developed specifically for 1st generation AI accelerators and uses INT8 instructions.
FSR 4.1 includes significant improvements compared to the 4.0 version featured in previous leaks. This update offers sharper machine learning-based boost performance and also promises improvements in Ultra Performance and DRS modes.
Expected Date for Radeon RX 6000 Series is 2027
AMD did not limit FSR Upscaling 4.1 support only to new cards, but also included it in the planning for the Radeon RX 6000 series with RDNA 2 architecture. Jack Huynh stated that support for desktop and mobile GPUs in this series will come in early 2027.

The company has not yet shared the final compatibility list or a full breakdown of the games that will be supported. In addition, details such as the driver version that will bring the update and the exact release date in July have not yet been announced.
