British technology giant Dyson announced the Dyson CameraJet, a smart toothbrush that brings a completely new dimension to personal care, at a launch event in Paris. Developed after six years of R&D, the device combines brushing, flossing, and rinsing in one unit with an integrated macro lens camera, an AI-powered targeting system, and a conical water jet.

AI and Camera-Assisted Oral Care: Gap Optical Targeting

Dyson CameraJet targets the interdental spaces that classic toothbrushes cannot reach or that users overlook. The 100,000-pixel macro camera integrated into the body scans 28 frames per second, mapping the spaces between teeth in real time.

Trained with 470,000 tooth images during its development and containing 16 million lines of code, the Gap Optical Targeting algorithm sprays a conical water jet at the target within 100 milliseconds after detecting the gap. This allows the device to automatically apply the flossing effect to the interdental space while the user simply brushes their teeth.

Conical Jet Technology and Zero-Gravity Liquid Reservoir

While needle-type spraying methods used in traditional oral irrigators create holes in the plaque, they may not completely remove the sticky layer. Developed as a result of a 5-year study conducted by Dyson engineers with the Faculty of Dentistry at the National University of Singapore, the conical jet cleans plaque by scanning a wider area with low pressure, without damaging the gums.

Anti-Gravity Reservoir: The 12.5 ml capacity special diaphragm pump reservoir ensures a continuous flow of liquid without air pockets, regardless of the brush position.

Quick Refill Station: The charging stand fills the reservoir with mouthwash in 3 seconds with a single button press.

Variable Sonic Oscillation: The angle-changing mechanism prevents the bristles from stopping upon contact with the surface, offering up to 69% more plaque removal in strong areas compared to standard electric brushes.

Smart Connectivity, Special Formulas and Turkey Price

The device integrates with the MyDyson app via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections. Users can obtain live endoscope images, view the cleaning coverage map, and track their brushing habits through the app. On the security side, it is stated that camera images are not stored on the device or in the cloud, but are only processed in real-time.

To maintain the system’s optical performance, a special non-foaming toothpaste and low-foaming mouthwash are also included in the ecosystem. The non-foaming formula prevents the camera’s field of view from being obstructed.
