Google brought Dynamic Color support to the Gemini interface on Android. Here are the visual and functional changes in the new interface.
Following the Neural Expressive design language announced at the I/O 2026 event held last month, Google is making significant changes to the Gemini interface on Android. The company is introducing a new version that updates the visual structure and functionality of the interface to improve the user experience.
Google app version 17.28Dynamic Color support was added to the Gemini interface. This update is available for all users using the stable version of the application.
Visual and functional innovations in the interface
The Dynamic Color feature is especially evident in dark mode. The text area and interactive elements, which were previously in gray tones, now appear compatible with the overall color theme of the device.
When using an open theme, changes are felt mostly within the menus. While the menu page opens when you click on the plus icon gets a light coloring, the carousel structure in the middle of the options has a more obvious theme. It should be noted that this Dynamic Color support is not currently offered in the full-screen Gemini chat experience.

Another important change in the interface is related to the placement of the Screen content option. This feature, which allows you to capture screen content and add it directly to the prompt, has now been moved to the main carousel menu. Positioned in line with options such as Photos, Camera, Documents, Drive and Notes, this tool creates a more compact usage area.

This feature, which was previously included in the list of Visuals and Personal Intelligence tools, was made widely available with version 17.26 of the Google application. If you cannot see these changes on your device, you can force-stop the Google application so that the updates can take effect. What do you think about these interface regulations by Google?

Update details and access
Dynamic Color support has reached the stable channel with version 17.28 of the Google app. Users have a more integrated experience with this new interface, which is shaped according to the color palette of their devices.

Moving the Screen content feature to the main menu speeds up the process of transferring users’ screenshots or content to Gemini.

Google continues to strengthen Gemini’s place in the Android ecosystem with such small but effective touches.
