DLSS 4.5 is Coming: Here are the Details of NVIDIA’s New Driver

The first details about NVIDIA’s new GeForce 615.xx driver and DLSS 4.5 support have emerged. Details of the new driver and technology are in our news.

NVIDIA’s new R615 driver family has surfaced on NVIDIA forums before it’s officially released for download. The page dedicated to the GeForce Game Ready 615.xx driver includes game optimizations for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, as well as DLSS 4.5 support.

Although the forum entry shows a release date of August 13, 2026, the new driver is not yet available to users. NVIDIA’s most current publicly available Game Ready driver remains version 610.88, released on July 28.

DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction and New Driver Details

A GeForce GRD 615.xx feedback thread opened on the NVIDIA forum revealed the first details regarding the driver’s development process. Although the page states that the release date is August 13th, the term 615.xx is still used instead of the exact release number.

Among the games supported by the new Game Ready driver are Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and Hell Let Loose: Vietnam. Initial information regarding the R615 driver family indicates that two more games will also receive DLSS 4.5 support.

The August 13th date particularly coincides with Hell Let Loose: Vietnam. The game was released on August 13th, and NVIDIA confirmed the DLSS 4.5 support for the game around the same time.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy will be released on August 27th. Despite the date in the forum entry, there is no new release date for the first version of the R615 family due to the driver not being available for download.

Technological Innovations and Gamescom Expectations

The release of the R615 driver coincides with the period just before the Gamescom 2026 calendar. The company has not yet confirmed that the 615.xx driver will be related to the Gamescom event.

The new driver coincides with the release period of the DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction update. The technology will be available on all GeForce RTX 20, RTX 30, RTX 40, and RTX 50 series via the NVIDIA App.

DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction uses NVIDIA’s second-generation Transformer model. The new model has 35 percent more computational capacity and processes 20 percent more parameters compared to the current Ray Reconstruction version.

Despite this increase, NVIDIA keeps the performance level at a similar level to the current model. The new version brings improvements in lighting accuracy, temporal stability, and clarity of moving scenes.

DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction will be supported in 27 games in the first phase. Alan Wake 2, Cyberpunk 2077, DOOM: The Dark Ages, F1 25, Half-Life 2 RTX, Hogwarts Legacy, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Portal with RTX, Star Wars Outlaws, and The First Descendant are among the supported games.

NVIDIA is also bringing the new Ray Reconstruction model to Blender Cycles. The planned integration with Blender 5.3 will be used in real-time viewport previews of ray-traced scenes.

NVIDIA’s latest WHQL Game Ready driver currently available to users remains 610.88. The exact number and release date of the first version of the R615 family have not yet been announced.

Do you think the new driver will be released in conjunction with the Gamescom trade show?
