Pre-orders for Apple’s new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models have officially begun. Data shared by analyst Jeff Pu shows that the level of pre-order demand for the new series iPhone 18 Pro is more limited compared to last year’s iPhone 17 Pro series.

Analyst Jeff Pu bases this assessment on the delivery times he tracked for different configurations. The first-day performance of the new models in the market paints a picture below expectations.

Delivery Times and Demand Analysis

According to Pu’s information, for the most popular expected 256 GB and 512 GB capacity iPhone 18 Pro models, delivery times reach 3 to 4 weeks for most colors. This situation reveals that interest in the devices is at a reasonable level, but not as rapid as last year’s depletion.

The situation is more variable for the higher-priced 1 TB and 2 TB models. Silver options are readily available, while Black and Glacier require a wait of 1-2 weeks.

Delivery time for Burgundy models is 3-4 weeks. This information proves that Burgundy is much more preferred by consumers compared to other options.

In contrast, interest in the Silver option appears to be quite low. While iPhone 18 Pro delivery times alone do not necessarily mean low demand, a noticeable difference emerges when compared to last year’s iPhone 17 Pro series.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max reached delivery times of 3-4 weeks on September 13th, just one day after pre-orders began. Moreover, at that time, there were only six days left until the planned sales date of the phones, September 19th.

Factors Affecting Sales

Pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max started on September 12th, and sales in the first countries will take place on September 18th. However, the 3-4 week delivery times seen for some models are evaluated by Pu as a lukewarm pre-order performance.

Pu states that more limited upgrades and the increase in the price of the iPhone 18 Pro may have suppressed demand. The weight of the devices is also among the factors that may affect consumer preferences. The features of the iPhone Duo foldable phone

, Apple’s first foldable iPhone model, also stand out as another element that may affect the demand for the Pro models. It is estimated that some users who want to try the foldable iPhone may have postponed their purchase decisions.

This data about the new iPhone models offers valuable clues about Apple’s market strategy. Do you think the main reason for the low interest in the iPhone 18 Pro models is the price or the design?

According to analyst Jeff Pu’s data, iPhone 18 Pro pre-order demand lagged behind last year. Here’s the latest on the new iPhone models.
