Anthropic has expanded the capabilities of the Claude model on Gmail, enabling it to send emails on behalf of users. This new functionality allows Claude not only to manage the inbox but also to directly create and send replies.

Previously offering support in areas such as calendar and Drive management via Google Workspace, Claude can now also effectively manage email traffic. When users ask Claude to reply to an email thread, the system can prepare a draft and send it directly.

Email Sending Process and Approval Mechanism

Anthropic notes that this new feature requires approval by default. Users retain control over whether Claude requires their approval before sending an email.

The system supports sending emails as well as replying to and forwarding incoming messages. These capabilities are valued as a valuable step, especially for users who want to speed up their workflows.

Corporate Usage and Access Details

The process works slightly differently for team and corporate plan users. Account holders can decide whether or not to allow group members to send emails without permission.
