AMD’s New FSR Technology Comes with 8x Frame Rendering

8x Multi-Frame Rendering (MFG) and new FSR override options discovered in AMD Radeon drivers are set to change the gaming experience.

AMD’s latest Radeon drivers bring multiple frame rendering modes and various FSR override options, discovered via the RadeonTuner tool. These new features show that the company is preparing to take FidelityFX Super Resolution technology to the next level.

According to the information shared on the Chiphell forums, some advanced graphics settings that were not previously listed in Adrenalin 26.6.2 WHQL drivers have come to light. The RadeonTuner software provides access to these implicit options that are not visible in the standard Adrenalin interface but are located within the driver.

8x Multi-Frame Rendering Technology from AMD

In the examination of the Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card, remarkable new options were detected under the FSR panel. The most prominent among these options were FSR Multi-Frame Rendering (MFG), which offers up to 8x boost, and related override settings.

This 8x MFG technology, which AMD is working on, allows seven additional frames to be created for each local frame. This ratio exceeds the 6x MFG mode offered by NVIDIA, promising a smoother image experience in games.

High frame rendering rates bring with them more complex frame acceleration and latency reduction needs. For this reason, AMD is expected to update existing Anti-Lag technologies to ensure stable operation of 8x mode.

Current standard framing systems produce only one frame per local frame. On the NVIDIA side, while a gradual progress process such as 2x, 4x and 6x is being followed, it is said that higher values ​​​​such as 16x may come to the agenda in the future.

FSR Ray Regeneration and Neural Radiance Caching

Other important options discovered within the driver are the override settings offered for FSR Ray Regeneration and FSR Neural Radiance Caching. Being able to manually enable these features can mean improving visual quality even in unsupported games.

NVIDIA’s peer override methods allow users to benefit from advanced technologies even in production without official support. This step shows that AMD aims to offer similar flexibility to Radeon users.

Currently, titles such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Crimson Desert, Mafia Old Country and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide are among the games that support these technologies. Thanks to these new override options, it may be possible to use these technologies in a much wider game library.

This move by AMD is considered a critical step in the spread of graphics technologies, especially in the competitive gaming world. It seems that the updates that the Radeon group will make in the future will directly affect the graphics card performance and visual experience.
