$750 Billion Deal Heads Up at Artificial Intelligence Summit in San Francisco

NVIDIA and SK hynix signed a giant artificial intelligence agreement worth 500 billion dollars. Here are all the highlights from the hill in San Francisco.

South Korean President Lee Jae-myung led an artificial intelligence summit in San Francisco. During the summit, long-term agreements worth a total of 750 billion dollars were signed with the participation of representatives of NVIDIA, Broadcom, Microsoft, Samsung, SK hynix, Hyundai Motor and Naver.

This event has become a valuable trade center that brings together the giants of the technology world. A friendly atmosphere was created among the participants at the dinner held after the summit.

Giant Agreements and Strategic Collaborations

The $500 billion agreement between NVIDIA and SK hynix was one of the biggest developments in technology. In this context, NVIDIA gained the opportunity to jointly develop SK hynix’s new generation HBM products, ensuring critical supply chain security.

NVIDIA also plans to collaborate with SK Telecom to build a 2GW information center equipped with Vera Rubin systems. The company also announced that it will invest $1 billion in South Korean cloud company Naver, which builds data centers using its own GPUs.

Samsung and Broadcom signed a memorandum of understanding worth $200 billion to expand their strategic cooperation in the field of memory and casting technologies. This partnership, which will last until 2030, focuses on Samsung’s production technologies of 2 nanometers and below.

This collaboration involves Broadcom using Samsung’s advanced packaging technologies for wireless broadband solutions. The parties aim to produce higher performance and power efficient artificial intelligence silicones with methods such as 2.3D and 2.5D integration.

Production Capacity and Future Plans

The South Korean administration aims to double the country’s memory production capacity by 2030. In line with this vision, the construction of new production facilities in Gwangju and Jeolla regions continues.

While Samsung’s P5 Fab 1 facility is planned to become operational in July 2027, P5 Fab 2 and the facility in Yongin are expected to start production in 2029. On the SK hynix side, the Yongin Y1 factory will come into operation in February 2027, and the Y2 factory will come into operation in the second half of 2028.

At the dinner held after the summit, President Lee described the participants as family. One of the most talked about moments of the night was when NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang asked for another beer and Chairman Lee joked that the government official who paid the bill would not allow it.
