TURKEY’S INTERNATIONAL NAME CHANGED

The letter sent by Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, to the United Nations Secretary-General yesterday, was answered.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, said that he sent a letter to the United Nations Secretary General in his post yesterday. It was said that steps were taken to change the name of our country in a foreign language used in the international community. After that, the response from the UN did not take long.

The United Nations will now say Turkey instead of Turkey!

Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu made the following statement yesterday:

The process that we started under the leadership of our President in order to increase the brand value of our country is coming to an end. With the letter I sent to the UN Secretary General today, we are registering our country’s name in foreign languages at the United Nations as “Turkey”. Best wishes!

Turkey has taken a similar step in the past years. A decision was taken to include Made In Turkey instead of the phrase Made In Turkey, which indicates that a product that is exported and sold in the domestic market or abroad is produced in our country.

Now, in a similar way, it has been decided to use the name Turkey instead of Turkey in the international community and especially in the UN official documents.
