With macOS 27 and iOS 27, valuable innovations such as window resizing, DRM support and Control Center access are added to the iPhone Mirroring feature.
iOS 27 and macOS 27 Golden Gate versions, announced last week, bring three key updates that make the iPhone Mirroring feature more functional. These updates significantly improve users’ experience of controlling their iPhone devices from a Mac.
The most notable change in the iPhone Mirroring feature is the addition of window sizing support. Users can now resize the iPhone Mirroring window to any size they want with iOS 27 compatible applications.
New Features for iPhone Mirroring
This feature, which currently only works in Apple’s native iPhone applications, will spread to a much wider range when the developers release iOS 27 updates. Previously, users were limited to only three fixed options: small, actual size and large.
This flexible sizing change is considered a preparation for the foldable iPhone Ultra model, which Apple is expected to launch later in the year. In addition to window resizing, iPhone Mirroring now offers direct access to the Control Center.
Users can open the Control Center using the CMD+4 keyboard shortcut or via the View menu in the Mac menu bar. Another important improvement was the inclusion of DRM protected video support into the system.
Previously, when trying to watch DRM protected content via iPhone Mirroring, the screen appeared completely black. With the new version, this restriction has been removed, making it possible to watch protected images on Mac without any problems.
Interface and Usage Experience
Along with these functional updates, macOS 27 also brings a new app icon for the iPhone Mirroring app. This change stands out as a visual innovation compatible with the updates Apple has made in other stock applications.
These three major updates to the iPhone Mirroring feature bring the integration between Mac and iPhone to a more fluid point. In particular, window sizing and DRM reinforcement aim to increase efficiency in daily use.
In the Apple ecosystem, such updates stand out as an important step that facilitates the transition between devices. How often do you use iPhone Mirroring on Mac and what do you think about these new updates?
