The regions where the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 will use the Exynos 2600 and Snapdragon processor have become clear. Here are the device’s performance details and strategic changes.
The processor strategy of Samsung’s highly anticipated new foldable phone, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8, has become clear. The South Korean technology giant is preparing to use the Exynos 2600 processor in certain markets by making a regional distinction in its new generation device. According to the report shared by The Bell, users in the South Korean and European markets will be able to access models running the Exynos 2600 chipset. It is stated that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon series processors will be preferred in all other global markets. This development, which emerged before the Unpacked event, which is expected to be held on July 22, is considered as a part of Samsung’s strategy to manage costs and support its own chipset production units.
The Background Plan of Strategic Decisions is Explained
Information from Samsung’s MX division shows that design and portability are prioritized over performance in the foldable phone series. This approach makes the Galaxy Z Flip series a more suitable platform for the implementation of Exynos chips. The company aims to protect its profit margins by using its own production Exynos 2600 instead of high-cost Snapdragon processors.
The use of the Exynos 2600 chipset forms the basis of Samsung’s strategy to support its foundry and LSI business units.
Performance Concerns Come to the Agenda
Exynos 2600, which was previously used in the Galaxy S26 series, faced some criticism both in performance tests and battery life. Considering that the Galaxy Z Flip8 will not receive a significant upgrade in its current battery capacity and charging speeds, this raises questions among users.
New Design Details Stand Out
On the hardware side, the device focuses on a new hinge design rather than camera updates. In this way, it is aimed to significantly reduce the folding mark on the screen. However, the basic camera hardware is expected to remain the same as the previous generation.
Future Plans Are Taking Shape
Samsung officials state that the usage area of Exynos processors will expand further next year due to the continuing increase in component costs. This indicates that the Exynos 2700 chipset will be included more widely in the Galaxy S27 series. Samsung does not give up the power of Snapdragon in higher segment devices such as Galaxy Z Fold8 and Fold Wide.
