Google Gemini’s new calculation-based usage limits continue to attract users who fill their quota with a single command.
Google recently switched to a new calculation-based usage limit system for its AI subscription plans. This new system works with a credit logic based on complexity and feature usage rather than a fixed command limit.
However, many Google AI Pro subscribers express their reactions, stating that the new system is quite restrictive. Users complain that even a single process consumes all their quota rights within minutes.
Usage limits filled with a single command
A Google AI Pro subscriber named Ashutosh Shrivastava proved the problem he was experiencing with an image he shared on the X platform. The user stated that a single command he gave using the avatar-based rendering feature completely filled the five-hour usage quota.
Shrivastava stated that the process took about three or four minutes and although the image creation process failed, the limit reached 100 percent. This created great disappointment among users who felt that the new system had lost its predictability.
Google’s Gemini leader Josh Woodward responded to the complaint and announced that they would investigate the issue. The company has taken a step that shows that it closely follows this experience of users.
Users expect transparency
Complaints about Gemini’s updated quota system are also increasing on platforms such as Reddit. Users state that they encounter much tighter restrictions compared to the old system and that they cannot predict how much quota a process will consume.
While Google has increased quota limits for Antigravity users by up to nine times, current restrictions for general subscribers remain largely the same. Pressure is increasing that the company should make the system more transparent or rearrange the limits in order to meet the expectations of premium subscribers.
Users who pay for a premium service expect their vehicles to be durable and accessible.
How do you think these changes made by Google in its new credit-based system affect the user experience?
