Apple is preparing to launch entry-level MacBook Pro models with a new design and M7 processor in the spring of 2027. Here are the details.
Apple is preparing to make a big change in the entry-level MacBook Pro model, which is highly anticipated in the technology world. According to the latest information shared by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, the company will launch a completely renewed MacBook Pro model with an M7 processor in the spring of 2027.
Apple’s rapid transfer of design innovations, which it mostly offers in its upper segment devices, to the entry level is considered a breakthrough that surprised industry experts. Although this transition process has progressed much slower in previous years, the new strategy will allow users to reach the new design in a much shorter time.
Design Innovations Are Rapidly Spreading to the Entry Level
When looking at Apple’s product cycles in the past years, it seemed that major design changes took years to reach the entry level.
For example, the 14-inch MacBook Pro design, introduced in 2021, was only available for entry-level models in 2023 with the M3 processor update. However, the reduction of this period to only 6 months by 2027 is considered an indication of the company’s effort to standardize its design language.
The entry-level MacBook Pro with the M7 processor will bring contemporary design standards to a wider user base.
Product Roadmap and Technical Strategies are Determined
According to Apple’s current road map, entry-level models with M6 chips with the current design will be released in the fall of 2026, while upper segment devices with M5 Pro and M5 Max processors will be introduced with their new designs. The company management decided to accelerate its hardware strategy by ending high-performance M6 chip development and switching directly to the M7 generation. This paves the way for the newly designed entry-level model to arrive with the M7 processor in the spring of 2027.
Hardware Updates Await Users
The most notable features expected in the renewed MacBook Pro series include a thinner case design, OLED screens offering high image quality, and possibly Dynamic Island integration.
Although increasing costs and price regulations due to memory supply difficulties make the accessibility of entry-level models difficult, the performance increase and user experience improvements that the new design will bring seem to continue to attract the attention of professionals.
