Togg and CATL subsidiary CAIT have strategically collaborated to develop the “Bedrock Chassis” platform for affordable B-segment models to be released in 2027.
The B-SUV (T6), B-Sedan and B-Hatchback models, which will be built on this platform, are planned to be gradually offered for sale by 2027.
The new generation models are aimed to be positioned at a much more accessible level, at approximately half the price of the current T10X and T10F series.
Electric Mobility Era for Everyone with Togg B Segment
After Togg took a strong stance in the C segment with its first model, the T10X, and its subsequent T10F, it is now gearing up for the B segment, which will appeal to a wider audience. Thanks to this new agreement with CAIT, the company will use “Bedrock Chassis” (skateboard chassis) technology to accelerate production processes and optimize costs.
Bedrock Chassis technology; It combines the battery, powertrain systems, thermal management and chassis control unit in a single compact structure. This modular structure increases the interior space of the vehicles and optimizes the weight distribution, thus increasing driving safety and range efficiency. Togg will integrate its own digital architecture and user-oriented design onto this platform, making it compatible with Türkiye’s mobility ecosystem.
Target for T6 and New Models: Togg Experience at Half Price
According to the strategy, which became clear with the statements of Togg Chairman Fuat Tosyalı, the B-SUV model, which will be released in 2027 and called “T6” (or T8X according to some sources), will be the most accessible vehicle of the brand. Considering the current market conditions and segment differences, this model is aimed to be sold at approximately half the price of the T10X and thus spread the use of electric cars to the base.
This new family, which is expected to hit the roads in June 2027, will not be limited to just SUVs. With the gradual inclusion of a sedan and a hatchback model in the B segment into the ecosystem, a total of three different body types will be available to users. In these models, it is envisaged to use more compact battery packs (approximately below 50 kWh) and urban-focused engine options (between 80-100 kW) in order to reduce costs.
Global Technology and Local Engineering Power
One of the most critical points of the collaboration is that Togg takes on an active developer role, not just a buyer, in this platform development process. While CAIT provides the technology, Togg; It will determine issues such as product requirements, digital user interface and integration with the charging infrastructure in Türkiye.
CATL Chairman Robin Zeng emphasizes that this project is a reference point for Bedrock Chassis’ global growth outside of China. With this move, Togg aims to increase the capacity of its production facilities in Gemlik and increase its annual production figures to 100 thousand units by the end of 2027. This strategic step reinforces Togg’s vision of becoming not just an automobile brand but also an integrated technology company.
