Fortnite has started the refund process for the cosmetics of arrested singer D4vd. V-Bucks refund and details are in our news.
Fortnite has managed to remain at the center of popular culture with its collaborations with hundreds of celebrities, brands and artists over the years. The Icon Series, which featured many names from the music world with in-game concerts, special music packages and dance numbers, became one of the players’ favorite events.
However, the collaboration with the popular singer D4vd turned into an unexpected crisis after the artist was recently arrested on a terrible charge.
Quick Refund Step from Epic Games
21-year-old singer D4vd, who is also a former Fortnite streamer, was arrested and arrested on first-degree murder charges in connection with the murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Although the artist denied the accusations and claimed his innocence, the seriousness of the case and the disturbing details that emerged caused great outrage in the Fortnite community.
Many players stated that they were uncomfortable keeping the artist’s dance moves or music packages such as “Feel It” or “Trophy Drop” in their lockers and began to pressure Epic Games to remove them from the game.
After these intense reactions, Epic Games made an official statement stating that it heard the players’ voices. The company announced that players can unconditionally return the D4vd cosmetics they own and get back the V-Bucks they spent.
How Does the Return Process Work and What Will the Future of the Items Be?
According to the statement made by Epic Games on the official Fortnite Status account, starting from Tuesday, April 28, 2026, all players will be able to make their refunds instantly through an automatic “self-service” system.
However, players who do not want to wait for this date can currently make refunds manually by opening a ticket via customer services (player support). As a matter of fact, some players state that even their refund requests made months ago have been approved quickly in recent days.
For now, the thing the community is most curious about is whether these items will be completely deleted from the game. Epic Games has yet to announce a decision to forcibly delete or permanently remove D4vd cosmetics from players’ lockers.
However, the company stated that “they will introduce other changes over time” and signaled that these items may become history in the coming days. For most players, the main issue is not to get their V-Bucks back, but to have no ties in the game to a name that is being tried with such serious accusations.
So, what do you think about this refund process initiated by Epic Games for in-game items belonging to D4vd, who is facing very serious accusations? Do you think companies should completely and permanently delete the digital assets of celebrities involved in real-life crimes from games, or should they leave the decision to the user’s discretion to return them?
