Microsoft has started to offer the new Xbox mode developed for the Xbox PC application to all Windows 11 users. Promising an experience similar to Steam’s Big Picture mode, this interface aims to offer a console-like gaming experience to computer users.

This feature, which was previously tested on Asus’ Xbox Ally devices as Xbox Full Screen Experience, now reaches a wider audience. Users can access this new interface by installing the latest Windows 11 update.

Xbox Experience Moves to PCs

The Xbox team states that this new mode is available for players in selected markets as of today. The feature is planned to be rolled out to more regions and users in the next few weeks.

This interface, which was previously tested on handheld devices, was developed in line with user feedback. Microsoft states that these learnings directly shaped the final Xbox mode design on Windows 11 computers.

Xbox mode, aims to narrow the gap between the console world and the Windows operating system. This move is seen as part of a strategy to offer a more integrated interface for gamers playing on the computer.

Other Updates and Improvements

Microsoft offers innovations not only on the computer side, but also on the hardware and console side. The preview of Auto SR scaling technology for the Xbox Ally X handheld gaming device is available to users as of today.

On the console side, a new dashboard update is being released for Xbox owners. With this update, players can now disable the Quick Resume feature for certain games.

Additionally, the ability to add personalized colors to the dashboard also comes with this update. Microsoft focuses on improving the user experience with these updates on both the PC and console sides.
